I know I had notes on this once before, but can not find them now.

I need to do a two-step translate - from TRANS thru DEBTOR to PAYPLAN

I need to use TRANS attribute 1 to get DEBTOR attribute 48 to retrieve PAYPLAN attribute 2 - payment amount (and another tw-step translate to get PAYPLAN attribute 25 - payment frequency).

I know I've seen it / discussed before, but can't find it on the forum.

Finally got smart, and did a review of existing dictionary elements.

LIST DICT DEBTOR WITH 8 EQ "T]" 0 8

Found one there that did what I wanted.

To get attribute 2 in PAYPLAN from the TRANS file, line 8 in the dictionary is:

TDEBTOR;X;48;48]TPAYPLAN;X;2;2

Note - the ] is the Ctrl-bracket character, not just a bracket.

The first portion of the translate gets the payplan number from DEBTOR, then the second portion uses the PayPlan number to retrieve the pay plan amount from PAYPLAN.
